Schedule: Monday-Friday 9 to 5
In Office Edison, NJ Location

The Senior accountant role is a hands-on position accountable for managing daily accounting transactions and reporting to the company Controller.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work with Controller on month end closing
  • Analyze, reconcile, and report various balance sheet accounts.
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit Card reconciliations
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Sales Tax compliance and filings
  • Assist controller in all financial audits and liaise with external and internal auditors.
  • Assist controller in Inventory accounting including physical counts and variance analysis.
  • Assist controller in establishing and maintaining internal controls including documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • A working knowledge of Trade Promotions Management and chargebacks is a plus.
  • Various ad hoc projects as assigned by the Controller.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to multitask.
  • Manufacturing cost accounting is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Equivalent experience required.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Experience - 5+ years of relevant experience including technical accounting, audit support, financial controls
  • U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge required; knowledge of IFRS preferred Financial accounting systems experience (e.g., NetSuite, Dynamics 365, SAP, QuickBooks) required
  • Food and Beverage import and distribution industry experience considered a plus
