It is officially 2017 and with this new year came lots of snow, wind, and frigid, single digit days. The sunny days of casual BBQ’s by the beach are long behind us. However, there are still plenty of reasons to get together with friends and throw a cocktail party. And sometimes a reason to throw a party is just to get everyone out of the house. When the winter blues hit- invite your closest friends over, turn up the volume on some great music, get dressed up and serve up some delicious food and refreshing, tasty drinks.
On our menu, we have included something for everyone, including a few killer drink options. Try our Fizzy Limoncello Martini to sip on something sweet, our Italian Sidecar, for an Italian twist on the classic drink, our Peppered Italian Soda, for a punch of flavor and spice, or our Hibiscus and Italian Bitter Soda for a perfect sweet and sour combination. Of course with all of this drinking, your guests are going to need something to nibble on. New Years Eve parties don’t usually feature a sit-down dinner. So, to keep your guests stomachs from grumbling as they chat and dance, try out some of our delicious appetizers and finger foods.
Crostini is a really easy (and currently very trendy) party food. Check out crostini video here. There are tons of options with this but layers and presentation is a biggie for crostini. What cheese / jam / fruit / meat / topping you decide to use is totally up to you. Another really easy yet impressive appetizer is homemade butternut squash hummus! This is a always a crowd favorite. By adding in steamed vegetables and bread for dipping, your guests can be as healthy as they want to be in that moment.
For those who want to nibble on something light, you could put out a spread of Figs and Pecorino or even just a big bowl of your own homemade Truffle Chips. For those who want to indulge a little more, you could include Spinach and Artichoke Risotto Balls, Fried Artichokes, or slices of Pear and Pecorino pizza.
