This past week, the Specialty Food Association hosted the 63rd annual Summer Fancy Food Show from June 25th-27th at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. With over 40,000 attendees, Summer Fancy Food Show is the largest specialty food industry trade even in North America, and gives companies a chance to showcase new products, meet potential clients and pitch partnerships. Walking through the aisles, you can spot cheeses from Wisconsin or New Zealand, rich chocolate from Switzerland, refreshing mochi flavors from Hawaii, crackling bread from France… the list goes on and on. From all corners of the world, food distributors from around the world travel to the show to display their newest products, wow potential partners, and of course, see what their other competitors have to offer.
The show gives companies a chance to show off their latest products available and mingle with anyone who might want to work with the company. Colavita has continually been an exhibitor at both the Summer and Winter Fancy Food Shows for the past 30 years, this year displaying over 200 products. Products included Colavita oils, vinegars and pasta, along with private brands like Dal Raccolto artisanal pasta, and Perugina chocolate. Colavita also had a chef available for anyone who wanted to try new products, or any product they might be interested in.
At the booth, Colavita gave out samples of Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Colavita Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and also had out samples to try of different Colavita World Collection Olive Oils, Baci chocolates, and Niasca Portofino drinks such as Limonata and Mandarinata. Guests mingled and chattered excitedly about which was their favorite and potential buyers eagerly inquired. This year Colavita debuted our new line of gluten-free pasta, and Crushed Tomatoes. As always, we were thrilled to show the world of food what we have to offer and excited to be in a venue filled with like-minded businesses to inspire us to create the best, authentic products for our customers, from those who have been with us since before the food shows began to brand new fans and everyone in between.
