Colavita, the leading family-owned and operated Italian extra virgin olive oil in the United States, is proud to announce the opening of a new dedicated production and distribution facility in Dixon, California. The new location will allow for enhanced production capabilities and efficiencies, greater collaboration with West Coast culinary schools and associations, and establish an expanded platform for exporting products across the globe.
Colavita has bolstered its presence in California over the last few years through ongoing work with local growers to produce 100-percent California extra virgin olive oil and partnerships with key local institutions such as the Culinary Institute of America and the San Francisco Giants.
“We are excited for the opening of the California facility to further diversify and enhance our global production capabilities. With production locations in Sant’Elia and Rome, Italy, Edison, New Jersey and now Dixon, California, we can offer our clients unmatched production and logistical efficiencies,” said Vice-President, California Operations, Colavita USA Paolo Colavita. “We aim to be a driving force in the domestic olive oil industry by partnering with local California growers and using our expertise in selecting, blending and marketing high quality, authentic oils to provide our clients a full range of offerings in the olive oil category.”
Colavita will continue to enhance the company’s sustainability efforts in Dixon by using a solar panel system to power the facility and a recycling program that will dramatically minimize the waste output once production activities commence. The solar power will be a companion to the 816-kilowatt system that powers Colavita’s headquarters in Edison, New Jersey, and which in five years has already produced over 5.5 million kilowatts of energy.
Colavita is distributed in over 80 countries and is recognized worldwide as the top authentic extra virgin olive oil producer. Colavita is the leading brand in premium extra virgin olive oil, Italian pasta, and Italian vinegar in the USA in both the retail and foodservice sectors.
