Colavita celebrated the company’s 75th anniversary at the Culinary Institute of America’s (CIA) Caterina de’ Medici restaurant, which is located within the Colavita Center for Italian Food and Wine. Hundreds of guests attended this event, which honored decades of the company’s progress. Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil is currently distributed in 72 countries. However, other products such as pasta, balsamic and wine vinegars, pasta sauce and various other Italian products are distributed by Colavita.

Giovanni Colavita

Colavita’s origins date back to 1978 when Enrico Colavita traveled to the United States seeking someone to distribute his family’s olive oil. He met John J. Profaci in New York and the business grew from supplying a few restaurants in NYC to a well-recognized global brand. Today, Colavita has expanded to many countries throughout the world and has helped to expand the market for other Italian products. Some goods that are distributed by Colavita are Cirio tomatoes and beans, Risco Scott rice, San Benedetto water, and Motta Panettone. Colavita also explores the wine business by partnering with Terlato Wines, distributing the products under Colavita’s brand. Colavita is a major importer, exporter, and distributor of various goods. Their products are used in both restaurants and at homes.
