On the Apple Salad: You may need to whisk again before drizzling over the salad to make sure the oils and vinegars are well combined. They will separate if left alone too long.

On the Pressed Italian Sandwich: Before assembling, split the bread in half and scoop out the inside of both the top and bottom, leaving a 1/2-inch thick shell.
