Banana Blues
"On one of my television appearances, I worked with a harmonica legend named Little Sammy Davis. Sammy has performed with many of the blues greats, including Earl Hooker, Little Walter and Muddy Waters, and while he is close to seventy years old, he continues to blow some mean harp. He loved bananas, so I created a banana dessert on the spot while Sammy played his harmonicas. That's the day the banana blues were born."
Ingredients:

2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 shot (2 tablespoons) milk
1 shot (2 tablespoons) banana liqueur
2 whole bananas, cut into quarters
1 shot (2 tablespoons) cognac
4 large scoops vanilla ice cream

Preparation:

Melt butter in a large nonstick saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar until moistened. Add milk and banana liqueur and cook, stirring until smooth. Add bananas and cinnamon and cook 1 minute, then carefully turn bananas. Add cognac and flame 1 minute, then pour banana mixture over vanilla ice cream. Makes 2 to 4 servings
