In a sauce pan heat the olive oil; add the garlic and saute for a few minutes. Add the beans, tomatoes, water and herbs; simmer 1 hour. Stir in ditalini, cook until heated through. Serve in bowls, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serves 4 - 6
