The Region of Molise Molise is a quaint and rural region of Italy located in the south-central part of the country. It possesses a lush and dramatic mountainous landscape at one end, which gradually smooths out into sandy beaches where it meets the Adriatic Ocean. Molise is well worth a visit and is only a 3 hour trip from Rome by car. Known for its woodlands, hills, mountains, and ancient ruins dating back even before the Roman Empire, the Molise region is one of the least populated or touristy areas in all of Italy.
