Meet Nicky Wangsgard of the
Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team

Now in her second season with the Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light, Nicole “Nicky” Wangsgard is what’s known as an “’all-arounder.”  This means she’s good at all types of events and terrain – from stage races to sprints.  Nicky could be called an all-arounder off the bike as well. She has a doctorate in education and is currently Assistant Professor of Special Education at Southern Utah University. Her lifelong passion for tennis led to a collegiate scholarship and three years on the pro tennis circuit.  Nicky took up mountain biking in 2001 and captured the Collegiate National Championship the following year.  Since switching to road racing, Nicky has won numerous honors and is expected to make numerous podium appearances throughout the upcoming season.
